Yumeji Takehisa was a renowned painter and illustrator, celebrated for his lyrical "bijin-ga" (portraits of beautiful women). His distinctive style, known as "Yumeji-style beauty", became synonymous with the Taishō Roman (Taishō Romanticism) movement, earning him the title of the "Ukiyo-e Master of the Taishō Era". Beyond painting, Takehisa was also active in literary and publishing circles, creating illustrations for children's magazines and poetry collections. He wrote extensively in various genres, including poetry, songs, and fairy tales, further cementing his influence in both visual and literary arts.
