Seiho Takeuchiの詳細情報
Seiho Takeuchi
Takeuchi Seihō was a pioneering figure of modern Japanese painting and a leading prewar Nihonga artist of the Kyoto school. Active for more than half a century, he was appointed Imperial Household Artist and became one of the first recipients of the Order of Cultural Merit. Trained in the Shijō school under Tsuchida Eirin and later Kōno Bairei, Seihō rose to prominence at a young age and became a central figure in Kyoto’s artistic circles. A seven-month journey to Europe profoundly influenced his style, particularly through encounters with the works of J. M. W. Turner and Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. His career firmly established him as the foremost painter of the Kyoto art world in the early twentieth century.
