KYNE is a contemporary Japanese artist known for his monochrome portraits influenced by both traditional portraiture and street art aesthetics. Based in Fukuoka, he began his artistic journey around 2006 as a graffiti artist while developing an interest in figure drawing during his student years. Seeking to merge these influences, he started creating flat, monochromatic portraits that evoke a nostalgic yet modern sensibility. His art gained recognition as he distributed his works in sticker form across various urban spaces, gradually rising to prominence from the streets of Fukuoka. Today, KYNE’s distinct visual language has earned him a strong presence in both the Japanese and international art scenes.
