Kohei Nawa

Kohei Nawa is a contemporary sculptor known for his innovative fusion of diverse materials and cutting-edge technology. His work explores the physical properties of materials such as polyurethane foam, glass beads, and prism sheets, pushing the boundaries of sculpture and spatial expression. His notable series include "PixCell", in which taxidermied deer are encased in glass beads, and "Trans", a collection of sculptures based on 3D-scanned human figures with various digital effects. His large-scale work "Manifold" (2013), a 13-meter-tall aluminum sculpture, reflects his exploration of "information, material, and energy" within virtual three-dimensional spaces. Currently, Nawa has expanded into architecture, seeking to blur the lines between art (sculpture) and architectural design, continuously redefining spatial experiences.
