Josef Albers

Josef Albers was a painter, designer, and influential art educator. Born in 1888 in Bottrop, Germany, he studied at the Bauhaus at the age of 32 and later became a teacher there. Albers is renowned for his "Homage to the Square" series, in which he systematically arranged squares in varying colours to study optical interactions.
