Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons is an American artist known for his works inspired by pop culture, particularly his mirror-polished stainless steel sculptures resembling balloon animals. He is considered a leading figure of the "Simulationism" movement in contemporary art. Koons began creating air-toy-like sculptures in the 1970s, using highly polished stainless steel to mimic the appearance of inflatable objects. These works became his signature style, with "Rabbit" being one of his most iconic pieces—originally owned by art dealer Ileana Sonnabend, while a replica is housed in the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. In his other series, Koons often blends kitsch objects with Baroque aesthetics, playfully blurring the line between high and low art. He has collaborated on large-scale projects, including art installations at H&M’s Times Square flagship store and a collection with Louis Vuitton, further solidifying his presence at the intersection of fine art and commercial culture.
